Somewhere in the middle (#1)

In the beginning …

That’s how many stories or the rehashing of narratives start. Yet, in my case I came to accept that my storyline has a plastic bowl of spaghetti in the picture. Vague. A watercolor splash. There an idea line. Another thought somewhere at night or when I am staring down a cliff on a mountain peak.

However, somewhere the concept that the mind is like a house started to grow in my thinking. After my art studies, I needed a theme to focus on. What are my interests? What are my passions? Can I unravel the chaos of spaghetti and play with it until there is order? Yes I could and I did.

So, it didn’t just appear out of the blue, it has been a long time coming.

My interest in people and the way they act in certain situations is one of my fascinations. Furthermore, my training in trauma counselling has added to this construct that we all have an influence in the way we think and consequently act. To include my interest in interior and exterior design, the repairing of unsightly broken décor and cutting back overgrown garden spaces added to the then undistinguishable notion. These special environments of physical exterior, interior of homes and internal thoughts can get intertwined and are connected according to my growing proposal (see image).

All of us choose to beautify our natural homes according to what we are used to or like and array our minds consistent with our habits or thinking patterns.

Yes, since we can change dirty interior décor and fix disorderly gardens, hence my notion that we can also renew minds and cut back on old problematic habits.
