About this work

In the UpsideDown House, the two tall blue crane images are reflected in the water surface. Blue cranes are likely to make their nests next to water, so this artwork suggests that the bright pink upsidedown house offers to be their home. In reality we know this not to be so. However, what if we can imagine that a pink house can be the abode of a pair of birds? This type of thinking will surely alternate our average thinking, but it is not necessarily a negative thing to let our imagination go. Hopefully this UpsideDown House might stir the owner or viewer of this artwork to sometimes use a different angle to approach a matter, whether it is a personal problem or an intellectual challenge. One might even be tempted to turn our issues on its head to discover a brand new way of overcoming an obstacle.
